Railway. A fine collection of commercial photographs, black and white prints and postcards (some colour), contained in a shoebox. There are approx. 850 postcard size prints, featuring mostly ex LNER locomotives and constituent companies (approx. 500 prints including North British, North Eastern, M & GNR, Hull & Barnsley, Great Central), plus ex LMS locomotives and constituents (approx. 90 prints), plus a few BR standards (mainly 9F's). The remainder (approx 250) are mostly stations, bridges and viaducts including: Stonehouse, Worlington Golf Links, Ponders End, Altrincham, Ventnor, Forth Bridge, Bath Green Park etc. There are some early postcards including a couple of railway company "Officials". The locomotive prints are from a variety of commercial sources including: Lens of Sutton, Photomatic, Casserley, Real Photograph Co. etc. Most have minor captions, some just have a catalogue number. No copyright, sample illustrated.
