John Fitz Marshall, R.B.A. (British, 1859-1932), 'Dewey sweet'. oil on canvas, signed lower left and to canvas verso, titled to stretcher and inscribed 'Exhibited Royal Society British Artists', gilt swept frame. 14 x 21in. (35.5 x 53.4cm.). Not relined. Varnish has deteriorated (probably damp damage) at lower right corner and margin. Some scattered retouches visible under UV. Minor abrasions to margins.
