Admiral of the Fleet The Earl Mountbatten, WW2 HMS Kelly Signed Letter. An interesting ink signed 1942 letter sent by Mountbatten to a Mrs Crawley. The letter refers to photographs taken at Malta by a local photographer of HMS Kelly ships company. Single signed typed letter dated 15th July 1942 clear ink signature. HMS Kelly was commanded by Earl Mountbatten from the time of her commissioning to her sinking on the 23rd May 1941 during the evacuation of Crete. Amongst the crew lost on the 23rd May 1941 was a AB Thomas James Crawley who was 21 years old
