PEDESTAL TOP SQUARE GEM TEAKETTLE INK. (Inks Book p357 T10 12.3). 2.1ins tall. French teakettle fountain ink. Slightly larger variant to the cobalt example in the sale having a basal plinth. A beautiful dark smoky amethyst glass (minor lip flakes), shape was used by Maurin and Antoine & Fils. Particularly rare in this colour, French. Absolutely fantastic!
