More Information

The picture is framed under glass and has not been removed for inspection. The colours appear to be reasonably clean and bright, but are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The paper may also have darkened somewhat over time. There is some foxing visible in the white clouds above the building's roof, and in the pale cloud on the left hand side of the picture. The brickwork to the right of the picture shows what could be some staining, but this may equally represent shadow and be as the artist intended. The frame appears to be in good condition, although the glass would benefit from cleaning.
