A nameplate, JOHN, from an 0-6-0ST built by Pearson & Knowles Coal & Iron Co, at Dallam Forge, Warrington, in 1911 and new to their Chisnall Hall Colliery, Coppull, Lancs. The Company was taken over by Wigan Coal Corporation from 1930 and became part of the National Coal Board in January 1947. It was loaned to Welch Whittle Colliery in 1950/51 and went in May 1956 to NCB Standish Railways near Wigan. It ended up at Gidlow Washery loco shed from where it was sold for scrap to Jose K. Holt & Gordon, Chequerbent in June 1965 and scrapped at their yard the following August. Cast brass, 19½"x8½" the front repainted. (Postage Band: D)
