An early 19c eight day longcase clock, the white painted arched dial signed Thackwell of Monmouth and having date and seconds dials and a moon phase dial in the arch. The corners are painted with flowers and the steel hands are of matched pattern. The four pillar movement is rack striking on the hour and has an anchor escapement. It is contained in an oak and mahogany case with swan neck pediments to the hood and free standing fluted columns flanking the dial. The trunk has fluted quarter columns and a short trunk door with a central shell inlay. The base has canted fluted corners and a cut out plinth. The clock stands 229cm tall overall.

The movement is complete and clean. The dial is in good order and has been well restored. The case is in good order apart from one loose moulding below the right hand side of the the hood.
