1841 1d Red brown Pl.8. Very fine unused o.g. right hand marginal block of fifteen lettered MH-OL showing part sheet inscription, MI showing double letter "M" variety. A couple light gum creases, minute pin holes affecting NI & OH and just shaved at top of MK & ML nevertheless a magnificent exhibition piece showing dramatic uneven blueing, this block is the largest known unused multiple of this plate in either black of red, the next recorded multiple in red is a horizontal pair. Spec. AS47b, £165,000 as singles. Ex. "Maximus" and "Verus".
