A FINE PERSIAN TABRIZ CARPET, hand woven in Eastern Azerbaijan c.1950. Material: woollen pile hand woven over six months on a traditional wooden hand loom with a knot density of 300,000 knots per square metre, dyed with natural dyes taken from walnut skin, pomegranate juice, saffron, henna and bay leaves. Design: this design dates back to the 16th Century, during the Arts and Crafts Renaissance period influenced by the Emperor Shah Abbas. Size: 168cm x 133cm
