George Henwood M.E Four Lectures on Geology and Mining Read at the Mechanics Institutions, Leeds, Hull, Bradford, Harrogate &C, printed by Samuel Moxon, Leeds and published at the offices of the Mining Journal, London, ninety eight pages in original embossed brown binding with bright gilt lettering and the Duke of Cornwall’s plume of feathers, a small part of the spine needs gluing. first edition, 1855. These lectures are dedicated to Sir Charles Lemon Bart and the frontispiece is a plan of twenty illustrations showing cross sections, transverse sections, general view of the Carnon tin stream mine, Botallack etc... Lecture 1: On the study of geology and mineralogy as sources of interesting and valuable information. Lecture 2: Observations on certain tin stream works in the County of Cornwall. Lecture 3: On the metalliferous veins or lodes of Devon and Cornwall, and the methods of mining them. Lecture 4: on the manipulation of the ores of Devon and Cornwall to render them marketable. A good copy of very scarce work.
