A nameplate, BULWARK, from a BR Class 50 diesel electric No D441 built by English Electric/Vulcan Foundry, Works Nos 3811/D1182 in October 1968. It was renumbered 50041 in March 1975 and named in May 1978 after the Royal Navy Hermes Class aircraft carrier built in 1948 and later converted to a commando carrier. Allocated new to LM-Stoke Division, withdrawn from Laira in April 1990 and cut up by BR at Old Oak Common in July 1991. Cast aluminium, 39¼"x9¾", in ex loco condition, the pattern number cast in the back, with its 1991 Collectors Corner receipt. (Postage Band: N/A)
