A front numberplate QJ 2989 from a Chinese QJ 2-10-2 class loco built at Datong in 1979. The loco was latterly based in the Jiamusi area. The characters for Qianjin (a military command meaning march forward! or forward!) are in the centre. The motifs each side of the central star are a gear wheel for industry and corn for agriculture. Stylised flags to each side [the top of the flag poles on the left hand side are missing]. These plates were carried by some of the earlier QJs, but it is likely that very few survived after the plates were removed or the locos were scrapped. Unrestored, rear to primer. Cast iron, 49"x29", very heavy. (Dispatch by Mailboxes/Collect from Banbury Depot)
