Oil on canvas, back has been boarded so canvas not inspected but thought to be the original rather than relined, rather dirty with discolouration throughout possibly nictotine staining but should clean to good effect, a fine but stable craquelure running throughout, one tiny dented pin hole towards the top near 12 o'clock, perhaps a sign of retouching just to the left of the tower, signed lower left on one of the floating logs, and housed in a later gilt scroll frame.
