Bedfordshire Regiment Victorian Officer helmet plate circa 1881-1901. Fine gilt crowned star mounted with Garter and laurel sprays bearing silver THE BEDFORDSHIRE REGIMENT scroll. Black velvet centre mounted with silver Maltese cross on a star, centrally a hart crossing a ford on blue enamel backing. Three loops to reverse bearing additional holes indicating conversion from an 1878-81 16th Foot example. Star tips with verdigris, the remainder fresh. VGC
