A jewellery piece mainly comprising a 1738 George II gold two guinea coin. Young laureate head left, legend surrounding GEORGIVS.11 DEI. GRATIA, with stop above the centre of the bust. The reverse shows a quartered shield of crowns, date either side of the crown. 22 carat gold. 31mm. The coin would weight 16.7/8g – this weighs 19g. A classic example of Hanoverian milled gold. The coin is about VF and appears to be fixed at three points to the jewellery accessory. accessory, which is gold colour.
