German Third Reich WW2 Luftwaffe Nahkampfmesser or fighting knife. A good scarce aircrew example. Polished steel 17 cm spearpoint blade with central rib, the last 9 cm double edged. Blade stamped with Eagle 5 Luftwaffe issue mark. The hilt with two piece wooden grip attached by three steel rivets and fitted with straight crossguard. Housed in black painted metal sheath with double sprung steel clip and fitted with rare purpose made leather frog. Very tip of blade AF. GC
