Property of a gentleman - a fine Edwardian carved mahogany cased 8-day chiming longcase clock, by William J. Beale, the hood with carved cartouche inscribed 'Tempus Fugit', the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, strike/silent and Whittington/Westminster chime dials in the arch, the three train movement chiming on eight rods and a coiled gong, with brass cased weights, 97ins. (246.5cms.) high, with paper label typed 'Designed, carved and made throughout by W.J. Beale at the South Kensington School of Art in 1909, before going to the Varsity where he took:- Master of Arts, Doctor of Philosophy'.
