THE GREAT DUNLOP TYRE DEAL OF FIVE MILLIONS BRANHAM (BARNSTAPLE) MADE JUG. 6ins tall. Wonderful earthenware sgraffito jug c. 1896. Scratched into the base coloured slips (light & mid green) is the jug title around the top of the bulbous body & below: April 13 1896 May 13/ A little house a little wealth etc. Wide open fish mouth pouring lip, various raised designs around. Branham was a famous Art Pottery in Barnstaple established in 1848 Base hand inscribed. Couple of thin lip edge f lakes, generally very good.
