1917-21 War of Independence Service Medal to James Harding, Cork IRA.
Provenance: By descent to previous owner. Whytes Auction, 17 September 2016, lot 91. James Harding is mentioned in Bureau of Military History witness statements (WS0190) as a volunteer in 'D' Company, 9th Battalion, 4th Cork Brigade whose IRA activities in the area include facilitating the escape of prisoners from Spike Island in 1921.
