The Cunninghame Graham clan are an ancient and influential Scottish noble family with ancestral lands around Gartmore near Sterling. The male line has maintained a long association with the Military and Royal Navy producing multiple generations of high ranking officers, as well as other family members who became leading political and social leaders. Most items have direct Cunninghame family association and the collection includes some items acquired by the family such as the Mary Queen of Scots embroidery and Battle of Trafalgar compass.
