A Staffordshire spill vase, circa 1860, modelled as a seated mustachioed figure in Highland dress, sash, kilt and sporran, holding a flask and gun beside a hollow tree trunk, polychrome enamel painted with gilded highlights and applied clay textural details, mounted on a rocky, naturalistic, gilt-lined ovoid base, 24cm high, together with a larger figure modelled as a dancing Highland hunter, with dead game, dog and rifle, white glaze with polychrome enamel and gilded details on an irregular, white, gilt-lined base, 38cm high (2).
