NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, a vellum document with engraved vignette SIGNED by "BONAPARTE" in his capacity as Premier Consul, counter signed by Secretary of State, Maret, & Minister of War, Berthier; the piece entitled "Brevet d'Honneur Pour le Citoyen..." made out in manuscript to Francois Schouder, brigadier in the 14th Regiment of Dragoons, for his exceptional bravery (beneath the walls of Alexandria) serving with L'Arme d'Egypte, 30 Ventose, an 9 [i.e. 30 February 1801], and awarding him "un Sabre d'Honneur", 10 Prairial an 11 [i.e. 10th June 1804], with paper seal (vellum with folds & some discolouring) 33 x 43cms, unframed.
