Former Bristol Zoo Gardens - an original pair of 20th century bronze handles from the Bristol Zoo Gardens Aquarium. Both in seahorse shaped form, and were originally mounted to the entrance doors to the aquarium. Each measuring 39cm tall, approx.
The Aquarium was built into the existing Victorian bear pit by Dr Clarke c1927 and remained there throughout the Zoo's lifetime, eventually utilising the entire bear pit when the enclosure closed in the 1960s.
