India Letter. 1829 (Jan 6) Entire letter from Kandy to W. Wilson & Son in Bannockburn placing an order for regimental plaid, endorsed "pr the Ceylon" with a Kandy Post Paid datestamp, backstamped "ROMNEY / SHIP LETTER" (S.3), overstruck with boxed "INDIA LETTER / ROMNEY" (In.1), the rate altered from 1/10 to 2/10. A rare and unusual India letter error. Photo on Page 60.
