A 19th century mahogany apothecary cabinet, containing 20 bottles of various medicinal compounds and poisons, some sealed, all with paper labels, mainly for ‘C. Woollven, Operative & Dispensing Chemist, 108, High Street, Portsmouth’, plus five drawers containing; a glass pestle and mortar, scales, weights, a pill press, camphor, etc. condition poor to fair, some structural damage to the cabinet, one foot missing and other chips and minor damage, etc. bone handles

Honest, unrestored condition; underside of one rear foot missing; front right foot chipped and marginally incomplete; baseboard cracked vertically; one side warping away from the upper dovetails, one door one hinge screw missing. One bottle missing, as shown; pestle and mortar almost certainly original and neither damaged; bottles labelled by two firms, Woollven of Portsmouth and Nicholson of Tunbridge Wells; sliding rear panel reveals four further bottles, as now shown; no key to front lock.
