Singer, Frome - mid 19th Century mahogany longcase clock. Scrolled arched and inlaid pediment with three brass eagle and ball finials, over turned spiral twist columns with brass caps either side of a glazed arched door, above a wide case with quarter mounted turned spiral twist columns with brass caps flanking a short lockable door with inlaid stringing and escutcheon opening on brass hinges supported by a canted and string inlaid base on bracket feet. Eight day two train movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell. The 13 inch signed, painted domed dial with busy harbour scene to the dome, above a white dial surrounded by flower spray and gilt fan spandrels, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds and date dials. Pendulum, weight, key and winder present, recently serviced. Height 230cm (inc finials), width 53cm, depth 26.5cm.
