A Japanese portable shrine, Zushi, Edo period, the interior with a carved and parcel gilt standing figure of Kannon with gilt halo, in long flowing robes standing on a raised base, the lacquer case with hinged doors, engraved brass mounts and part gilt interior, 27cm overall
The case has lacquer missing throughout and some edge knocks around the top. Pins on hinges are loose The decoration on the figure is very worn but appears complete. Both hands may/may not be later.
