Fine Early 18th Century Plug Bayonet Converted To A Naval Fighting Dirk

13 3/4 inch, double edged, heavy set blade.  Darkened, bronzed crossguard with turn up ball ends.  Darkened brass ferrule.  Turned wooden grip using a Naval wheel spoke or splicing fid.  Contained in its rare period, leather scabbard with rear belt loop.  

This pattern of fighting dirk was often made by sailors using obsolete or broken weapons.
