Henry VII (1485-1509) silver Groat, facing bust issue, class IIIb, escallop mintmark (S 2198A, North 1705). Obverse: crowned bust with realistic hair and double-arched jewelled crown within a tressure of arcs, escallop mintmark, legend with rosette stops, 'HENRIC' x DI x GRA' x REX x ANGL x Z x FRANCI' around. Reverse: long cross with three pellets in each of the central angles, 'xx CIVITAS xx xx LONDON xx' in the middle ring and ''POSVI DEVM x ADIVTORE' x MEVM' around the edge with a clear escallop mintmark and rosette stops all round. Weight: 2.86g. Diameter: 25mm. Grade: aVF - round flan with some flatter areas and plenty of detail, about Very Fine.
