An Indian axe zaghnal. Probably 18th or 19th century, head 17cms with pointed blade cut with twin fullers and thickened towards the point, supported by confronting makaras in relief, the peen surmounted by an elephant chiselled in the round, on its wooden haft containing an iron tang. GC £100-200
