Victorian 1822 Pattern "South Devon Militia" Infantry Officer's Sword


32 1/2 inch, single edged, slightly curved, narrow blade with fuller. Etched, crowned VR cypher and "South Devon Militia" in double scrolls.  Foliage panels.  Etched family motifs over "JH".  Forte with maker "Moore & Co Late Bicknells & Moore. 1 Old Bonds London".  Gilt brass, Gothic guard with folding rear panel.  Crowned VR cartouche.  Gilt brass backstrap.  Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding.  Contained in its brass scabbard with two loose hanging rings.  Complete with gilt sword knot.
