An early 20th century sapphire and diamond cluster ring, the central oval sapphire cabochon measuring 13.8mm x 11.7mm x 7.9mm (weight approximately 13.80 carats), with a surround of twenty-six single-cut diamonds, all set in white metal, continuing to a tapering plain polished shank, ring size P 1/2, weight 7.6gms

With accompanying report from Gemmological Certification Services, report no. 5783-1354, stating that the carat weight is 13.80 carat approximately, that the stone is a natural sapphire, shows no evidence of heat treatment, and the origin opinion is Myanmar (Burma).

More Information

There are a few small to mid-sized, deep scratches (estimated 0.5mm - 1mm deep) to the surface of the stone, including one to the tope of the cabochon, approximately 3mm long, visible under reflected light, and smaller ones along the edge of the stone. There is a small nick in the stone above one of the shoulders. Stone shows moderate scratching and general wear commensurate with age and use. The stone is slightly loose in it's setting, rattling very slightly when moved - some tightening may be required. All diamonds are present and in good order, no major cracks, chips or losses, minor scratching and wear only. Setting in good order, some areas of minor thinning, general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use throughout, no signs of repair r major damage. Shank shows moderate scratching and wear commensurate with and and use throughout, no splitting, thinning, resizing or repair. Colour zoning is visible with the naked eye, and finger print inclusions are visible under 10x.
