DOULTON BABY INKWELL. 3.3ins tall. Stoneware salt glaze model of detailed baby holding both arms down (when open forms pen rest, small lugs repaired). Decorative border around bottom, bib & sleeves - picked out in light green. Speckled face finish caused by impurities in the clay. Underside of head inscribed, base has various Registered in 1907 (no. 537190) the baby is very occasionally found impressed Votes for Women but was registered the year before the Virago housewife usually carrying the suffragette slogan. Doulton impressed marks.
