Japanese fans: A dramatic gold and navy blue horizontal striped paper fan with double leaf, design recto/verso, carving to the guards, with a note that it had a connection to the Kanze School of Noh drama, guard length approx. 33.5cm; together with a second fan painted to the recto with birds in flight above a bough of large blossoms, the design with silver highlights, the verso with simple reeds and birds in the distance, wood monture, the upper guards simply incised, the gorge sticks all slightly different colour, guard length approx. 33cm (2)
