A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY TRIO TO THE DORSET REGIMENT. A Great War trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 10529 L. Cpl J.W. Conquest Dorset R. War Medal and Victory Medal similarly named. Private John William Conquest was born in Liverpool and was the son of Mrs Annie Harrow of 6, Newton Villas, Andover Rd, Ludgershall, Wiltshire, served with the 1st and 6th Battalions of the Dorset Regiment, he entered France on the 19th May 1915 he was killed in action on the 16th May 1917 and is buried East of Arras at Brown's copse Cemetery, Rouex, his headstone reads 'God Grant him Eternal Rest', he was 22 years old. *CR Medals polished. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
