A fine Louis XV longcase regulator by Ageron of Paris, c.1770, with equation of time, the silvered and gilt brass dial signed 'Ageron à Paris' in two cartouches, on the gilt centre decorated with engraved cornflower latticework, the silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and Arabic outer minute track, blued steel hands and additional gilt minute hand indicating solar time, annual calendar aperture at six o'clock, the signed movement with Graham anchor escapement, striking the hours and half hours, gridiron pendulum, in a rosewood and violet wood parquetry veneered case with ormolu mounts, 82¾in. (210cm.) high.
