Charles I (1625-1649) gold Crown, Tower under the king, group B, castle mintmark (S 2711, North 2181). Obverse: second crowned bust wearing a ruff, armour and mantle, 'V' behind, a castle above and 'CAROLVS D: G: MA: BR: FR:ET: HI REX'. Reverse: garnished square-topped shield of royal arms with a crown above, castle mintmark to the right and 'CVITORES SVI DEVS PROTEGIT' around. Weight: 2.22g. Diameter: 20.4mm. Grade: F+ - some minor scuffs and surface damage from having been in the ground, otherwise Fine or better in places.
