FRANCE 1853-61 IMPERFORATES ON BETTER COVERS. A rather lovely collection of 15 covers bearing the 1853-61 imperforates, note an 1862 4-colour 1f50 franking to Buenos Aires, various single, double & triple-rate frankings to other overseas destinations, a pairing of covers to Spain with single and double-rate local delivery markings of '240' and '480' reis handstamped alongside the 40c and 80c stamps, another pairing of covers with bright red cds's & dotted stars from 'Le Bureau du Palais de Compiegne' royal hunting lodge addressed to the Duchess of Atholl at Windsor Castle and yet another pairing of covers to Trinidad bearing 80c and 80c+80c single and double-rate frankings.
