± Birch, Birch & Co Grocers Shop Fitting "R JARRITT "OF BRISTOL SHOPFITTERS CABINETS An exceptional group of three late 19th/early 20th century architectural bespoke shop cabinets, all with Verre Eglomise advertising panels, fitted numerous shelves, drawers and tole ware produce bins, a range of marble shelving & carved decoration . The right set with eight verre eglomise glass advertising panels ('Milton's Reliable Coals', 'Thomas's Cleanser', 'Bryant & May's Matches', (Note: The items on the shelves and the 'Red White & Blue Coffee' and 'Hudson's Soap' signage attached to the shelves are not included with this lot).'Tuckett's Flour', 'Crosse & Blackwell's...', 'Hartleys Jams'..., 'Diadem Flour', 'Poulton & Noel's English Rolled Ox Tongues'...), above seven hinged compartments each with an applied enamel label, and bank of twelve drawers flanked by four green painted and numbered toleware bins The left set with two marble shelves, embellished with four verre eglomise glass advertising panels for Dole’s Wiltshire Bacon, Harris’s Wiltshire Bacon, Henry Naish & Sons bacon and Griffin & Sons Devon Butters. Top section approximately 216cm x 330cm, lower approximately 87cm x 330cm. Contents of shelving not included. May have been adapted to fit within confines of the current shop. The central set with verre eglomise panels reading "Tuckett's High Class Provisions"," Harry Pecks Table Delicacies", "Cerebos Salt", & "Carter's Pure Soda Water is the Best", all above a range of shelving. left cabinet 310 high x 327cm [Harris's Wiltshire Bacon etc marble shelves] back wall cabinet 310 high x 388 wide [Harry Pecks sign etc] right cabinet 310 high x 415 wide [ Bryant & May's Matches etc/ tole ware bins] These cabinets are believed to be ex. F. Coldstream Tuckett . He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Bristol & District Grocers' & Provision Dealers' Association. When the Grocers' Federation of the United Kingdom held their Summer Conference in Bristol in July 1900 he was Press Steward and half of the two-man Entertainment Committee, his shop at "Tuckett's Buildings" was located on Stokes Croft, Bristol. These fittings have been adapted to fit the space. We have uploaded multiple images to help show the condition of this lot. We can see no cracks to the glass, although there is some flaking. - This lot will be subject to an additional VAT charge of 20% on the hammer price
