1907 (Feb 18) Registered wrapper from a small packet to London bearing KEVII 1d (4) and 2d cancelled violet "SANDWICK / STROMNESS, ORKNEY" rubber datestamps, bearing a large blank type registration label struck with the same undated rubber handstamp at Stromness, used on the first day of registration labels in Great Britain. The only first day use of this type of registration label we have seen, most exceptional from the Orkney Islands, almost certainly unique. Two vertical folds, otherwise fine, ex Vivien Sussex collection. Photo on Page 118.
