Charles I (1625-1649) Pound, Oxford mint, 1642, mintmark plume on obv. only. ‘Shrewsbury’ horseman left, holding upright sword, Oxford plume to right, arms and cannon below. Rev, declaration in two lines, three Oxford plumes and value above, date below, legend with group of seven pellets, 119.4gm (S. 2940; N. 2398; SCBI Brooker 860, same dies).
