Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Preece's 1860 patent combined block bell & signal indicator, a very early instrument - the forerunner of the more common Preece instruments - in effect the top half of a standard Preece instrument that would have worked in conjunction with a miniature semaphore instrument, case has matching stamps "L&YR 902", painted over face has ghost writing "GLASSHOUGHTON COLL", missing front bezel & glass, original internal signal flag apparatus also removed in service as was the norm, the instrument finished its days as purely a block bell - rare.
