WW1 Imperial German Army Butcher Bayonet with 37cm long single edged fullered blade, maker marked "Alex. Coppel, Solingen". Spine of blade marked with Crown W15. Overall length 50cm. Wooden grip. Release stud is seized. The metalwork has been painted black at some point in it's history. Complete with scabbard which has holes rusted through where it has sat in the leather frog which is dated 1916.

Rust pitting evident overall to exposed portions of the metalwork but the blade is clean and bright. Some edge knocks to spine of blade. The scabbard is rusted through in places and rust pitted overall. The frog has been torn through and is stiff.
