A pair of mid 19th century Wedgwood black basalt twin-handled urns and covers, each decorated in Neo-Classical taste, the body with two oval reserves of a Classical figure playing a lyre, under draped floral swags, and a fruiting vine border, the tapering base clasped by acanthus leaves, raised on a circular foot with foliate rim, each cover with an acorn finial surrounded by relief cast oak leaves and acorns, and a foliate rim, impressed 'Wedgwood' to bases, 12 by 26cm high. (2)

Provenance: Privately owned, Clipsham House, Lincolnshire.
