A Zimbabwean pestle and mortar or grain pounder. Circa 1930, of waisted form, with a carved central band, apparently Watonga? tribe, height 40cm, with a handwritten note of provenance dated 1977. From a small collection formed by the vendors while living in Rhodesia in the 1970s, each with a handwritten note of provenance, from the Salisbury (Harare) based dealer/collector P.K.Chiunye.
