Star Lot : A striking original Frances Bunch Moran (Irish, b.1928 - d.2002) mixed media on paper artwork showing an athletic young woman leaning back, her legs stretched out in front of her. Rendered in a contrasting palette of pale blues, chartreuse and rich red. Signed bottom right and housed in a fine gilt frame. Frances Bunch Moran was a well loved Irish artist whose work fetched into the early hundreds.
Moran recorded aspects of Dublin city in watercolour and drawings. She drew particular inspiration from Georgian architecture and was conscious of making art for the people. She worked as an art teacher for Dublin V.E.C., Main Road, Tallaght from 1972 to 1994 and exhibited consistently from 1951 until her death in 2002.
