9 3/4 inch, single edged, blued blade with fuller.  Forte with maker "Jos. Courts. SD".  Back edge dated "40".  Blued steel crossguard and pommel.  Brown composite, grooved slab grips.  Contained in its steel scabbard.  Complete with black leather, Cavalry pattern frog (some damage).
