A Crimea medal, named to Thos Watt 11th Hussars, with Balaklava and Sebastopol clasps and regimental naming
Note: Thomas Warr, 11th Hussars, took part in The Charge on 25th October 1854. Warr lost his original Crimea medal (with four bars not two as on this medal) in 1863 and was issued with a duplicate medal by the Mayor of Dorchester in 1913. He died in 1916 and is buried in Dorchester.
There is no record of a Thomas Watt on the roll for the 11th Hussars, however, with the medal being regimentally named rather than offically named, there is a possibilty the two 'rr' in Warr was mis-read and incorrectly interpretated as two 'tt' hence the Watt and not Warr. Further investigation is recommended to the buyer.
