A TALL PAIR OF CHINESE BLACK LACQUERED AND GILT WOOD PANELS, 19/20TH CENTURY. Gifted under the rule of Ruan Zhidong, the head of Shandong society. Each with eight gilt characters on a cloud ground with tassels to top corners. To the back are further painted calligraphy. Each 152cm x 25cm. (2)
