Four good, large, 19th century miser’s purses, the first crocheted in navy blue with extra-large rectangular end panels, beaded in cut steel, plus cream and gold beads, two silver metal rings, crochet border to the very ends; a black example, the rectangular ends worked with coloured and metal threads, crochet border, two silver metallic rings; a tan velvet purse, embroidered with cut steel beads, the rings also beaded, each section with a band of silver sequins, squared-off ends; and a final example worked in colourful stripes in cream and green, each with the addition of ginger, yellow or plum designs within, two silver metal rings, a cut steel fringe to one end and a decorative cut steel tassel to the other (4)
